First-Come-First-Serve Spit Bike Share
What are “SPIT BIKES” you ask? Well, they’re a convenient way to check out the Homer Spit by bike. Operating 24/7 from May through September, our “SPIT BIKES” are an app based self-service system with 3 locations and plenty of nearby parking. You’ll find them at “Mariner Park”, the “Fishing Hole”, and at the “End of the Road Park”. These bikes are first-come-first served and are perfect for cruising around the boat harbor and boardwalks. Take a ride to the base of the Homer Spit along the bike path and stop by our two breweries. Download the MOVATIC APP and you’re ready to ride.

CONSIDERING A BEACH RIDE? KNOW YOUR TIDES!!!
CLICK HERE FOR NOAA'S TIDE CALENDAR.
DOUBLE CHECK YOU’RE LOOKING AT THE RIGHT TIDES FOR THE DAY AND THE AREA!!!
We recommend timing your ride to start between 2 hours after high tide and 2 hours before low tide to maximize your ride time.
Any tide higher than 18 feet you run the risk of getting cut off.
Any tide higher than 20 feet and you'll be knee deep in water against the bluff face. Aim to be off the beach 2 hours before these highs.
A 15 foot high tide is safe, you may end up hiking your bike, but you won't get stranded or wet.
There are some small creek crossings along the way. Your feet may get wet. Be prepared. Bring layers, food, water, etc.
